What a wonderful surprise it would be if the Vikings picked up Greg Jennings. As time goes on, it seems likely that he Jennings could be playing for the Vikings next season.
Greg Jennings is almost certainly going to leave the Packers, and the Vikings are in desperate need for some good wide receiver. Seems like a match made in heaven, right?
Ian Rapoport told NFL Total Access some of what he thought were possible landing spots for the receiver. The Vikings were one, along with Miami. The Dolphins might have a leg up given Jennings’ connection to their head coach Joe Philbin. But Jennings might also be interested in the Vikings who get to play his old team twice a year and are playoff contenders coming off a 10-6 season.
Last season was injury prone for Jennings leading up to only 366 yards and 4 touchdowns. For that reason, he may not have as big of a price tag. But if he stays healthy, and plays like he did in 2011, with 949 yards, and 9 touchdowns, we could have a real threat on the field along with Adrian Peterson.
If we don't get Greg Jennings in free agency, we'll most likely get a WR in the 2013 draft in April. But either way, we're going to need better wide receivers in order to be a competitive team next year.
