No doubt, Adrian Peterson is back to 100% after his injury, but is this his best season ever?
Through nine games so far, Peterson has gained 957 yards through the ground (1,107 yards from scrimmage) with six touchdowns, averaging 5.7 yards per carry. He's been looking faster than ever in games, and has contributed to every one of the Vikings wins.
Last week alone Peterson managed 182 rushing yards and two touchdowns. That was his third consecutive game with over 100 rushing yards.
His best season before this year, was 2007 when he averaged 5.6 yards per carry. Now he's getting 5.7 yards per carry. Peterson best season in terms of rushing yards was 2008, when he ran 1,760 yards, but averaged 4.8 yards per carry. This year so far he's ran 957 yards.
So, let's do the math. Since there has been nine games so far, divide 957 yards by the nine games which get's you an average of 106 yards a game. There's 16 games in the season so multiply by 16 to give you a total of 1701 rushing yards from Adrian Peterson for this season.
His predicted yards for this season is 59 yards short of his record. Not saying he couldn't get those extra yards, just trying to give you guys a perspective of what's coming. But in terms of average yards per carry Adrian Peterson get's the title.
What do you think?
