Rookie Harrison Smith Fined $15,750 for Horse-Collar Tackle on RG3

Harrison Smith is getting a bad reputation in the NFL. Today a league spokesman confirmed that the NFL fined Smith $15,750 this week for a horse-collar tackle on Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III in last Sunday's 38-26 loss to the Redskins.

This is his second fine of the season. Smith's first fine came during the pre-season, as he was fined $21,000 for his helmet-to-helmet hit on San Diego Chargers' wide receiver Mike Willie. He’s also been ejected from a game once this season from making contact with a referee in a game against the Tennessee Titans.

Also during training camp Percy Harvin and Harrison smith got into a sort of “tussle” if you would call it that. Just wanted to put that out there as well.

Harrison Smith was a first rounder this year from Notre Dame. He’s helped the Vikings defense a great deal, but the penalties he’s thrown upon us are costly.
