| Possible Design of New Vikings Stadium from HKS Inc. |
Is it still sinking in for you? We're going to get a new
billion dollar stadium. You probably got over it a while ago but now me. Still
absolutely stoked!
Here we go.
Hearing from fans.
The architect for the new Vikings stadium is heading out of state twice in the next
month to get good perception from Minnesotans on what they want to see in the
design. It feels nice knowing we have a say in which could be the best football
stadium in history.
Meeting with public
in Rochester and Duluth. HKS Inc., the stadium architect, and
representatives of the Vikings and Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority plan
to meet with the public in Rochester and Duluth in November. In Rochester it’s
scheduled for 5:30 to 7 pm. Nov. 13 at the Doubletree Hotel, 150 South
Broadway. A similar meeting will be held in Duluth Nov. 27, but where and when
are still undecided.
Lead Structural
Engineer Chosen. Last Friday the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority
announced that Thornton Tomasetti will be the lead structural engineer for the
new Minnesota Vikings stadium. Thornton Tomasetti has worked on many stadium
and arena projects around the country, but has done none in Minnesota recently.
So that's the latest happening with the new Vikings stadium. Last year at the Metrodome and we might have a playoff team to go with it. Wouldn't want our last year there to be bad one.
